Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the most populous city in Nevada, United States, the seat of Clark County, and an internationally-renowned major resort city for gambling, shopping, and fine dining.She is most famous for holding a variety of casinos and luxury hotels that are concentrated in the center of the city in the famous The Strip, a long avenue extra illuminated with bright lights and neon. Furthermore, it is a perfect place for people who want to have a good time and escape from the monotonous routine.

Brotas

The city of Brotas is located in the southeastern of Brazil, central region of São Paulo, To the northwest of the capital. Next to the cities of San Carlos, Piracicaba, Rio Claro e Jaú.The city’s climate is tropical, with altitude of 661 meters, clifs that goes from flat to wavy and savannah vegetation and field.The municipality of Brotas is considered one of the main points of the adventure Sport in the country; a practice perfectly possible on this site due to the natural conditions of the region, which holds a infinitude of waterfalls, water holes, rivers and natural pool. Some of the sports practiced in this region are: CASCADING, CANYONING,RAPEL,ACQUA RIDE, DUCK, FLOATING, HIDROSPEED, RAFTING and MOUNTAIN BIKE.

Fernando de Noronha

Fernando de Noronha is a small volcanic archipelago in the equatorial South Atlantic, in Pernambuco, Brazil. The archipelago has a population of no more than 3,000 inhabitants, concentrated in the main island, and a small floating population of tourists and researchers. It is a Marine National Park accessed by air flights, offering a pleasant weather, beautiful landscapes, wonderful beaches and very clean seawater, with dolphins, turtles and many fish types. Fernando de Noronha has both very beautiful places and nice people! In the hotels you can wake up and see the beautiful beaches from the bedroom window at the best hotels you have ever seen. Noronha is not only calm but also stunning!

Cairo - Egypt

Positioned on the North of Africa, it is the most famous and marvelous ancient archeological city worldwide. It's near the Sahara Desert, so don't forget to bring your sunscreen! The Giza Necropolis (where the 3 most famous pyramids are located) is the most recognized monument site on the globe, althought there are many supositions about its construction. It's a really nice city to travel to, and not only as a tourist visiting the pyramids. In the city there are countless monuments of Ancient Egypt everywhere you go, specially in Cairo's Museum, which can tell us fragments of this great an ancient country's history. It might not be the best place to work or live, but historically and geographically speaking, Cairo is a place where you NEED to visit as soon as possible.

Auckland

Auckland is the most populous city in New Zealand, although not the capital. The town lies between two natural harbors, the Port of Wanganui (Tasmânia ocean) and the Waitemata Harbour (Pacific Ocean). A positive aspect of this city is the mild climate and abundance of jobs and educational opportunities. The city has some of the best university in the country in which we can mention the University of Auckland.As attractions in the city have the "Praça de Aotea ", the "Sky Tower" which is the tallest building in the southern hemisphere, the “Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World" which is mixture of museum, aquarium and mini theme park. The city has a more modern, more urban in which much like people who like technology and modernity. Auckland is a beautiful city and a place that you get an unforgettable experience.

São Paulo

São Paulo is a city tah has a subtropical climate. The air is polluted, because there are so many cars and transportations, São Paulo has the Tiete River, but it is also polluted. The city is trying to change the situation of the river. The good aspects of it is that there are many malls and stores in SP too. It is located on a plateau. The architectonic style isn’t the same as in the entire city and it has many influences from a lot of other countries and cultures.

Sydney

Sydney is the largest and most populous city in Australia and the state capital of New South Wales. Sydney is located on Australia's south-east coast of the Tasman Sea. Inhabitants of Sydney are called Sydneysiders, comprising cosmopolitan and international population of people from numerous places around the world. The site of the first British colony in Australia, Sydney was established in 1788 at Sydney Cove by Arthur Phillip, commodore of the First Fleet as a penal colony. The city is built on hills surrounding Port Jackson which is commonly known as Sydney Harbour. Sydney is very known by the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, the beaches and natural beauty.

Everyone who goes to NY falls in love, located on the northeast stretch of U.S.A, it’s charming and modern at the same time. You will not only be impressed by the really high building but also fall in love with the charming architecture of the small ones. NY has everything for all kinds of people. For those who like visiting the cities’ famous tourist spots, NY has a lot of them, you can either visit the Empire State or ride the ferry boat to the Liberty Statue’s Island. For those who are into culture, NY offers great museums and really charming cafes at Soho.

Madrid

Madrid is a city in Spain is the country's largest city with 3,155,359 people in the capital. Near the end of may and start of june, Madrid's people organize parties, some of the festivals are - May 15th: San Isidro Labrador and - June 13th: San Antonio de la Florida. The pride of Madrid is the soccer team call Real Madrid,which is the team with biggest number of soccer stars in the world like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Ozil. Is the best club of century XX, appointed by FIFA (biggest entity of soccer). Madrid’s night is very agitaded with many famous nightclubs and pretty people. The city is rich in history and art and it has a trilogy of museums that represents quite an important evolution of art throughout human history.

Campos do Jordão




Campos is a country city located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil and is both cold and beautiful. There you can not only enjoy the trails in the forest during the day, but also enjoy the pubs during the night. The architectonic style is looked a lot like with the old european architectonic, because of this is also known as “Brazilian Switzerland”. Campos is surrounded by nature and the population has a very good humor, is one of the most touristic cities of Brazil. However, there is not only the party time, there is also good universities for you study there. Finally, if you are a person who likes the cold weather and the old architectonic style, that’s a place that you should visit, because it’s very familiar too, so going with the family is perfect.

Cologne is Germany's fourth-largest city and is the largest city both in the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia and within the Rhine-Ruhr Metropolitan Area, one of the major European metropolitan areas with more than ten million inhabitants. Cologne is located on both sides of the Rhine River. The city's famous Cologne Cathedral ,is the seat of the Catholic Archbishop of Cologne. The University of Cologne is one of Europe's oldest universities.

Caribbean is fronted by deep blue water and has wonderful beaches. It’s a perfect place to dive and see the beautiful things. There you can find cozy restaurants with tropical food and the night is very agitated, there are good places for the whole family and this city has a tradition of architectural grandeur. People all over the world come to visit the Caribbean.

Intense weather be it either hot or cold. There's no beaches but a lot of shows, pubs, good restaurants and places that you might have a good time with family and friends.

Advanced 2 Projects

The following Posts are from my dearest students from Monday and Wednesday evening in which they talk about the geographic, economic and cultural features of some places around the world. Hope you all enjoy it!!!

Madrid

Madrid is the capital and largest city in Spain. The city was founded near the river Manzanares, in the center of the country. Due to its geographical and historical, together with Lisbon is the financial and political center of the Iberian Peninsula. The people of Madrid began to grow significantly since the city became the national capital. The various means of transport and infrastructure are organized to reduce car traffic in the capital, enabling a rapid movement, both of whom use within the city, but of those who move from the periphery. The city is rich in history and art, has museums that represent quite significantly the evolution of art throughout human history. In the district of Moncloa is installed the City University of Madrid, a neighborhood in which concentrate the most of the colleges and polytechnic colleges of universities.

Paris - France

France is one of the most charming countries of the world and Paris, the most charming city in France and in the planet.
For those who want relaxation, the clubs and jazz clubs as New Morning, get the evening going. The bars are also good programs and one of the most famous is the Favela Chic.
The French certainly knows how to enjoy life at night and fill the theaters, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
Paris has many romantic settings such as parks, gardens, palaces, coffes, beyond the River Seine.

There's no shortage of tourist spots in Paris. An example of that are the Eiffel Tour, L'arque de triophe and the Louvre Museum , among others.

Sao Paulo, the state capital of São Paulo and the main economic center, corporate and commercial in Latin America. Brazil's largest city in the Americas,Sao Paulo is the Brazilian city's most influential on the global stage, considered the 14th most global city in the world, receiving alpha global city status - by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network (GaWC).
The city is known worldwide and has significant influence nationally and internationally, whether in terms of culture, economy or politic. It has important monuments, parks and museums such as the Latin American Memorial, Museum of the Portuguese, MASP, Ibirapuera Park, the Botanical Garden of São Paulo and Avenida Paulista. Whoever wants to come to sao paulo, be it to work and study is making a big deal.

Juiz de Fora

Positioned on the south of Minas Gerais State, at 600 meters above sea level, in the Serra da Mantiqueira, Juiz de Fora is one of Brazil’s cities with better index on quality of life. With about 500 000 habitants, it has a very young population, mainly because the city has a Federal University with 33 different courses. It has a tropical climate and some forest reserves and protected areas near the city.
Other important aspect is the culture in this city. Juiz de Fora has two beautiful museums, Mariano Procópio and Modern Art Museum Murilo Mendes. In addition to this it also has a Philharmonic Orchestra Pro-Music. Annually, the city organizes one of the largest classical music festivals in the world, The International Festival of Brazilian Colonial Music and Early Music.
Near to Belo Horizonte (270 km) and Rio de Janeiro (180km), and also only 480 km from São Paulo, Juiz de Fora is strategically located between the country's largest consumer markets. In the past it was the most important city of Minas Gerais State, because of its strong industrial growth achieved, during this time it was called "Manchester Mineira”, in reference of the known English city.

Praia Grande

The town of Praia Grande is one of the busiest beaches in Brazil. In high season it gets about 1.4 million tourists, nearly five times its permanent population, the latter also has been expanding quickly, with growth 56 000 inhabitants between 2000 and 2009, Praia Grande received the title of "the city with the fastest growing in Brazil".
Praia Grande was one of the first areas colonized by the Portuguese, which began with the arrival of Martim Afonso in 1532. The first village founded by the explorer, sent by the Portuguese crown, was precisely to Sao Vicente, Praia Grande that remained a part until 1967. From the mid-1990s, the construction boom, which occurred through a series of infrastructure works, landscaping and urbanization, which until then were too poor, eventually attracting thousands of families to the city in search of jobs offered by contractors and builders, causing a huge swelling population in the region between the current South Expressway, Highway Padre Manoel da Nóbrega and Serra do Mar creating suburbs, as Jardim Quietude, Ribeirópolis, Jardim Samambaia, among others.
The climate of Praia Grande is subtropical humid, without dry months, with hot summers and mild winters, being the hottest month in January, with an average of 24 ° C and the coldest is July with an average of 17 ° C.
With 23 kilometers of the coast of Praia Grande is divided into 11 beaches: Forte, Boqueirão, Guilhermina, Aviação, Tupi, Ocian, Vila Mirim, Vila Caiçara, Jardim Real, Florida and Solemar, being the center of the city in Boqueirão . Its interior contains some wetlands. Praia Grande has two terminals, Urban Road, located in the neighborhoods Mirim and Tude Bastos, from where buses to major cities of Brazil and even abroad (Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina).
Praia Grande also has some turistics sight Portinho, Fortaleza de Itaipu, Memorial dos Voluntários da Paz (Praça das Cabeças), Cachoeira de Guariúma and Caminho de Anchieta. Also as a leisure and shopping features Calçadão da Orla, Palácio das Artes (theater, museum of city), Litoral Plaza Shopping, Skate Park's (tacks in Aviação, in Ocian, in Samambaia, in Quietude and in Boqueirão), Trails of Região Serrana, Tours of Dindinhos (free standing) and Double Deck`s (2 levels, output of the exclusive bus terminals), Schooner Tours (Intermares), jet ski and banana boat (Canto do Forte), Craft fairs (Caiçara, Ocian and Guilhermina).

Their tradition makes it admired throughout the world, the royal family is located in one of the most fancy capitals of the world. Its buildings gives a more sophisticated air to the city and people are very welcoming. The chimes of Big Bang, afternoon tea, makes the place becomes more special.

Montreal

Montreal is the largest city in the Canada province of Quebec, the second most populous of Canada. It is situated in the homonymous island of the St. Lawrence, being a major industrial center, shopping and culture of North America. Montreal is one of the most important cultural centers of the country, hosting several national and international events. Among them are the Just Pour Rive, one of the largest comedy festivals in the world, the Montreal Jazz Festival, one of the biggest jazz festivals in the world, and the Grand Prix in Montreal. With all these events, together with its old town, Le Vieux – Montréal, Montreal is considered the most European city in North America. Montreal has a better educated population in the world, and Montreal is currently one of the safest cities of Americas, and in 2005 only 35 homicides were committed throughout the city. The architecture of many apartment buildings of two to four floors of the city is characterized by the presence of stairs outside the building, in order to save internal space. As a primary center of Canadian culture, Montreal has many museums. Among them are the Redpath Museum and the Canadian Centre for Architecture. The cultural complex of the Palace of Arts houses the Montreal museum of Contemporary Art, and has several theaters. Known as city of Saints, Montreal has numerous churches and basilicas. These include the Basilica of Notre – Dame, Basilica of Saint Patrick and Saint Joseph’s Oratory. The latter is the largest church in Canada, owning the largest dome of its kind. The building Place Ville Marie, one of the underground city of Montreal, where is located the largest underground shopping mall in the world. On this trip, you can also see the Olympic Stadium which opened in 1976, which has the highest inclined tower in the world with its 170 feet tall. Or even watch a hockey game; the sport’s most famous and practiced in the city of Montreal. It will be an unforgettable trip.

Iguaçu Falls


Foz do Iguacu is an amazing city because of its indescribable waterfalls and only living closely to understand. In one day you can see the Brazilian side and also visit the Bird Park, which is also very cool. Inside the park a bus takes visitors to various points, however it is best to stop on the Hotel opposite the Falls and follow the trails where there are multiple viewpoints to better visualize the waterfalls. On the Argentine side the ride is done on the waterfalls. It's really cool, and also holds lead raincoat in the park takes a train to the main points. Anyway, for your trip to the Falls to be complete be sure to visit the two sides: The Argentine as well as the Brazilian.
